The Hygeia has some nice features that aren't available on the mainstream pumps, like recording baby sounds and separate controls for the suction and speed, BUT overall quality is poor. I've used mine for 5 months with progressive issues:

-the suction control knob has progressively lost range of motion
-the power cord doesn't connect properly to the machine so it acts like a short and stops working if the cord is moved at all
-suction has gotten worse and suddenly just stopped, so now I have a non-functioning breast pump

Flash to calling customer service: they will send a loaner and a pre-paid tag to ship my pump back for evaluation, but will only ship the loaner via STANDARD GROUND shipping. I was given the option to pay the difference if I wanted faster shipping - overnight $90! Somehow this company which claims to understand lactation doesn't understand that delays like that are very painful for the mother and very bad for the milk supply, especially if you have a baby that has an issue nursing.

Now I've invested $200+ for a pump, $90 for overnight shipping to replace their defective product, and bought a manual hand pump while I wait for the loaner.

Stick with the mainstream pump Medela - they are known for having good quality and good service.

PLEASE NOTE: This was a proven malfunction as reviewed by the medical equipment provider and Hygeia respresentative- NOT user error.

After only 2 weeks of use, my Hygeia pump stopped suction. The motor is running, but there is NO suction from the machine. I called the company within business hours that afternoon with no answer. After four more unanswered phone calls and a few voicemails, I tried the international hotline by chance and happened to reach someone around noon the next day. They offered to send a "loaner" which would arrive in about a week, or expedite it for $100+. Unacceptable- not to mention you are responsible for the cost of shipping the broken pump. Additionally, to this day, I have not received a return call from the US hotline. This reflects terribly on their customer service and reputation to support breast feeding and proper supply.

Instead, my medical equipment provider worked with their representative (a huge exception to their "please call the company directly" rule) and replaced it with a new one within a day or two.

Fast forward two weeks later- like CLOCKWORK, the new pump has failed with the exact same issue. In mid pump, the motor is running and all of a sudden it's completely lost suction (at the pump base, not from a broken seal at the breast). I wish there were more of these posts before I bought the pump. We read reviews like mad to be sure this new company was really the best option, but there wasn't enough feedback on the suction malfunctions and customer service issues. This purchase (medical equipment!) is causing more issues than it's meant to resolve.

I intended to buy a pump that can be used with my next child, but what good is a 3 year warranty if Hygeia Enjoye doesn't last more than 2 WEEKS? I highly recommend AGAINST this pump!

I recently went back to work and I had to purchase a pump. I had done my research and decided to go with Hygeia for many reasons...one being Eco-Friendly and two I can share my pump...so awesome. I have been using my EnJoye for 3 weeks and I LOVE IT.The pump is very comfortable and I can adjust the speed and strength as needed. The pump has a three year warranty...that is fantastic. The pump is also small so it can fit into my rolling computer bag! This is a great product and I will be using it with my next baby. Thank you Hygeia.
